Oh my, my!  I am blushing.

Really, I am honored and pleased to be featured on The Pinwheel Collective!

Here is the opening of the story about KathleenTemple, Tailor:

KATHLEEN TEMPLE, TAILOR

Kathleen has become a friend and creative guru throughout the past year. With a cozy studio full of color, texture, art, and touches of her beloved family, Amelia & I were able to spend time in her workplace, hearing about her fully passionate life.
I, Katie, was lucky enough to have Kathleen revamp my mother’s wedding dress to wear to my own wedding this past fall. Kathleen brought much more than a skilled hand to this endeavor—she excitedly came up with ideas for this dress, crafting it until it was a perfect representation of what I had in mind.
Kathleen is a true artist, bringing creativity, wonder, fascination, and joy to every client and garment....

part three- through photo #37

It was Ginny's sewing vacation......  Lucky me got to have her here in my studio so we could sew together!

THANKS to The Pinwheel Collective for the photos...

Mom was our first sewing teacher.  I have always kept her portrait right by my sewing machine.

I purchased my fabulous Sewmor machine from a used sewing machine shop in Arizona back when I was a teenager; it was vintage even then!  I sure hope it lives as long as I do because I never want to have to rely on any other machine for my everyday, every-seam work.

Ginny's "vacation fabric"....   Oooo La La!

Jill, Johan, and the kids don't live in Harrisonburg these days but when I am in my studio, they don't feel so far away.  They helped me get my studio all set up when I opened KathleenTemple, Tailor on December 1, 2010.

Yes- I create custom wedding gowns.  The following gown is for a gorgeous bride in Houston, Texas, created to her measurements and specifications.

the second nine photos- Ginny and I were working together in my studio

Our second group of photos by The Pinwheel Collective.  The wonderful sister-team Katie and Amelia Schmid visited my custom sewing studio here in Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

My own sis Ginny and I had so much fun working together when she was here on "sewing vacation".

Ginny and I were working in my studio... first 9 photos

This is the first of several posts to show you Ginny and I working together in my studio.  We had a fantastic fun time.  I can hardly wait to do it again some day.  Ginny, when is your next sewing vacation???

All photos in this series by The Pinwheel Collective.  Thanks, Katie and Amelia Schmid!

Ginny gave me a gorgeous pearl necklace to match hers.

Ginny and I worked to turn her many fabulous fabrics into dresses and skirts and such that she will wear for years to come.  Beautiful garments!

Thank you, Pinwheel Collective Photographers!  You photog sisters are wonderful photographers to work with.  Your visits to my studio are always a big pleasure and we love your work.
